Serious things begin for the Mavericks and the Warriors, who will meet this Wednesday night in the first game of their series. None indication of the potential winner, but good news for Steve Kerr’s men. A big comeback should take place, enough to make some fans smile.
Luka Doncic vs. steph curry : Episode 1 will take place tonight, near the Chase Center. An electric atmosphere is expected, to support Steve Kerr’s men, but also to boo Luka in this part. It’s not against the Slovenian obviously, but when you see his performances, the fans will want to try everything to destabilize him. In any case, the series promises to be exciting, especially since the Dubs have good news.
Back in sight for the Warriors!
It is not yet confirmed by Kerr, but since he is not on the disabled list, Otto Porter Jr will make his return off the bench for his team. Excellent news for the former Wizard, very important this season, especially with his three-point shot. An additional threat to Steph Curry’s teammates, who will inevitably rejoice at this big news. We’re still waiting for confirmation before Game 1, but it smells good.
Otto Porter Jr. isn’t even listed on the Warriors’ injury report for Game 1 against the Mavericks. He will be available.

Otto Porter Jr is not listed on the Warriors’ Game 1 injury report against the Mavericks. Will be available.
Porter Jr has 8.2 points and 5.7 rebounds this season, in his first season at GSW. A really good player, who is capable of catching fire at times, enough to settle the Dubs’ affairs. His return is good news, especially since he is not the only one. Let us remember that after spending time in isolation due to covid, Steve Kerr will return to the bench and take over from Mike Brown, who was not unanimous in choosing him against the Grizzlies in the previous round.
At this, Gary Payton II, seriously injured against Memphis, is not out of this series. Unlikely as he needs to fully recover, but the winger could come back at the end to help his team-mates and maybe just to defend Doncic. It would be very good news to find this defender against the Slovenian, but the road is still long. For now, and for the first games, it will be a collective effort.
However, we do know a bit more about the Warriors’ future defense of Doncic, which is really a priority. In fact, by stopping the Slovenian, Golden State gives itself a better chance of reaching the grand finals. According to various reports, two players will be in reinforcement to stop Luka, with a very precise game plan. It’s a start, though we’ll have to see how the Texans adjust in response.
The Warriors will do everything they can to dominate the Mavericks in this conference final, so the return of Otto Porter is very good news. We expect a lot of chaos in this series, with the defense that could make a big difference. Answer in Game 1 this Wednesday night.
