New Padel court, Pickleball and much more
On May 22, the Serie B1 team will be on the field, play-off goal
LECCO – So much “meat on fire” at the conference that the leaders of the Lecco tennis club organized on Wednesday, May 11, in the presence of Mayor of Lecco Mauro Gattinoni Ycouncilor for education and sport Emanuele Torri. The main novelties are the restructuring of the management teams, the commitment to the new racket sports -Paddle and Pickball- and the imminent start of the B1 series championship, with the minimum objective of reaching the play-offs.
Councilor Torri thanked those responsible for the Tennis Club for their commitment. “Every time we organize events that have education as their theme, they always respond – he declares – there will soon be a new “sport and inclusion” project with the Politecnico di Milano and the Tennis Club Lecco will be among the four sports clubs involved. This is an important place from an educational point of view, because of the passion they put into it, and I appreciate it”.
The manager paolo arc then introduced pietro hall, new sports director of the blue club. Sala will have the task of looking after the tennis school, the future Padel school and relations with the FIP, with the aim of turning the club into a “Top School”. Among the skills included by Sala is also a long collaboration with Master Roberto Lombardi and the title of national padel master, a sport that he practiced first as a player and taught as a coach.
The paddle was one of the topics of debate. The leaders of the city club are moving more and more towards a diversification of the offer. Pitch 6 will be transformed into an indoor padel court, giving Lecco managers the opportunity to organize events and tournaments. The other sporting novelty is the pickle, a mix between tennis and paddle tennis.
“I discovered this sport a few months ago, talking to a doctor friend of mine – declares the President Mauricio Faravelli – Four of us went to attend the course in Bologna, from April 7 to 9. It is a relatively new sport in Italy, but in the USA it has about 4 million participants”.
For those who want to try Pickleball, the club will organize on Sunday, May 15, a Free Trial Open Day from 10 to 13 and from 15 to 18.
To close, Paolo Arco presented the squad for Serie B1 that will debut against Arezzo on May 22. Two players were present at the conference, Christian Giudici Y ottaviano martini. “The goal is to have fun, giving everything on the pitch – declares Martini – what we achieve will depend on the pitch, especially the friend of the house”.
