Tennis, paddle tennis and projects for young people: season at the head for the CT Massa Lombarda

A season at the forefront, on several fronts, from the team championships to the constant attention to the youngest, from the organization of tournaments and other events to the commitment to strengthen the structures. This is what the Massa Lombarda Tennis Club is experiencing, which with 360-degree activity (also on the padel side) confirms itself once again as a point of reference for the territory of Baja Romagna and beyond. . The numbers indicate this in the first place, with 110 boys enrolled in the tennis school, which since last October also has the entry to the coaching staff of the teacher Matteo Versari.

“As the Board of Directors we are trying to make the SAT grow, also encouraging our technicians to leave the ‘comfort zone’ in which the school’s management had entered in recent years -explains the president Fulvio Campomori- with a boost renewed following the indications of the Federation. From an early age, children must be technically set up in the correct way, with the aim of growing students, taking them over time to their highest level of play, to have the satisfaction of improving their tennis. In this way, the school can raise its technical level but at the same time maintain the number of children enrolled. With Maestro Versari we are trying to bring the most motivated and gifted children to play competitive activities”.

In parallel, the Massa Lombarda Tennis Club carries out the ‘Racchette in Classe’ project in primary schools: the complexes involved, in addition to Massa Lombarda, are those of Sant’Agata sul Santerno, Bagnara di Romagna, Solarolo and Mordano, during a total of about 1200 children. Without forgetting the Padel School, in its second year of operation (now that the club can count on two covered fields): the director is Matteo Versari himself and at the moment there are ten boys who frequent it.

In June (Monday 6) then the traditional summer camp called Sport Games will begin, which will last until September 9, with the possibility for the young participants to practice tennis, paddle tennis and beach tennis.

Spring, however, is by definition the time for team championships.. “We have entered five youth teams – adds Campomori – and the most accredited is undoubtedly the U14 women’s team, built around Sofia Cadar, flanked by other talented girls such as Giulia Dal Pozzo and Maria Vittoria Ranieri. Another formation that we have a lot of is the one that disputes the mixed Under 10 championship, with Robert Cadar and Ilinca Cilibic”. In the affiliated championships, the club via Fornace di Sopra will field a total of seven teams: the spearhead is the men’s team of the A2 series (competition scheduled in the fall, at the same time as the A1 that the team led by Michele Montalbini played for six consecutive years until 2021), to which the confirmed Francesco Forti, Giulio Zeppieri, Lorenzo Rottoli, Samuele Ramazzotti, Alessio De Bernardis, Marco Cinotti and Pietro Pampanin will be joined by new additions Dimitar Kuzmanov, Nino Serdarusic and Giacomo Dambrosi. But first, starting on May 15 with the group stage, it will be the turn of the men’s B2 series, which will face CT Massa Lombarda with Samuele Ramazzotti, Alessio De Bernardis, Marco Cinotti, Pietro Pampanin, Ronnj Capra, Enej Bonin and the young Pietro Ricci.

The Romagna club will be on the pitch in the D1 series with a men’s team (Luca Caprioni, Luca Degiovanni, Francesco Fabbri, Davide Casadio, Sergio Geminiani and Giovanni Zardi) and a women’s team (Sofia Cilibic, Chiara Dal Pozzo, Maria Vittoria Ranieri, Francesca Bertuzzi and Sofia Cadar), in addition to the men’s D3 formation (Matteo Versari Lorenzo Quattrini, Nicolò Quattrini, Mattia Ersinettini, Alessandro Ersinettini and Enrico Pelliconi) and the two teams (A and B) that will compete in the D4 series masculine. Equally rich is the menu at the organizational level. After the Rodeo tournaments held in February (4th male and female category) and March + (3rd male and female category and youth under 12 and 14 male) at the beginning of June -specifically from 4 to 12- the appointment with the competition will be renewed youth Sub 10-12-14 Fiordiprimi Trophy. In summer, therefore, the main course is represented by the Oremplast Trophy, a men’s Open tournament with 3,500 euros in prizes scheduled from August 20 to September 4 in the fields of Massa, the scene of a 3rd category Rodeo tournament for men and women. in October.

As for padel, from June 24 to 26 a stage of the Junior Agonists and Non-Agonists Circuit will take place, while from September 23 to 25 a tournament of the Padel Open Tour Emilia Romagna for men and women is planned. True to the commitment of the management to promote sport for all, with a view to true inclusion, the structures of the Massa Lombarda coach will once again host one of the six stages of the Kindergarten wheelchair tennis circuit, called the Junior Tennis Trophy in Wheelchair: The appointment is for May 28 and 29. And again with this idea, the second edition of the ‘Uguali Differamente’ event has been set for September 10 and 11. Sport at its best, beyond disability’ following the success of the initiative launched last fall.

The pandemic, with the difficulties of various kinds that occurred, did not stop the process of improving the facilities of the Romagna club. “We finished the fixed coverage of the second paddle tennis court and then we created an access to the club for the disabled. Soon we will illuminate the training field inside the Oremplast Tennis Arena with an LED lighting system and thus we will be able to have five tennis courts, two red clay courts plus three synthetic ones, and two paddle tennis courts -concludes President Campomori- to be able to against the various activities.
